Another day playing with glass!

I am melting................glass that is! : ) I have the big kiln, which we call Dorothy, full  of bottles today. I sure wish it was warmer outside though - I have to keep both windows open with the fan going to get rid of the fumes. I am hoping for a negative pressure ventilation system for an early Christmas present.....hint, hint to hubby! LOL
Pictures tomorrow or the next day of today's results. Plus pictures of the frit maker he made for me! It is so nice to have a handy husband! : )

Ever really finished?

Are renovations ever really finished?! Well I am hoping my new loft studio area is finished.....well I do need to move the glass saw up there yet. ; )
I did fire Dorothy a week or so ago & wow, it is really great to get so many bottles slumped at one time! But it is a chore to get them out of the bottom! I feel like I should have a safety harness on! lol
Here are a few pics of the finished space & the first batch of bottles:

Small sand blast cabinet I "inherited" from Doug when he got a bigger one!

New Studio

The new studio is in the works!! Floor is painted, waiting on the contractor to put in two new windows then onto the electric then putting everything in place! In the meantime, here are a few pictures of before and in progress:
this was the beginning

Surrounded by other "stuff"

My little corner of the loft in the beginning

Hey - there was a floor under all of those parts!

Ok, this looks kinda bad, but only cause everything is at this end and not sorted.

The area at the end is future studio. Everything had to be along the sides so they can put in the windows. By the way, if you see strange things (ie - coffin) we also store our halloween decorations up here!

First Sale!

These are the first two candle holders I sold!
Thanks Ronda!

They are made of almost all recycled material, even the wire is recycled! Candle & glass cup are the only new componets.

Now I need to get busy and get more ready to go! Waiting on an order of wire.
